Book Review and London Show Day

Hi People,

Sorry again for the late post, but as it’s in the middle of the holidays from Uni now, I thought now would be a brilliant excuse to pick up my blogging again and get back to doing some regular content for you all, this is going to be a little mismatch of things for this weeks blog, as I have been reading a lot as any of you will know that follow me on Goodreads. If you don’t currently, I will leave a link below.

Also as I type this Blog post, I am getting ready for an exciting trip on Saturday this weekend, as I am going back down to London with one of my best friends to see a show! There will be more on that later on in this Blog Post.

But for now, I wanted to do a little bit of a review first, the book that I am going to be reviewing this week is one that has been out a while and is the script to a stage show, that is part of one of my favourite franchises of all time, if you haven’t figured it out before now, it is the Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling and the book that I am talking about of course is “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.

Now before a lot of you ask, “Why haven’t you done this before?” quite simply, when I first read the Cursed Child I was in a really bad place and I didn’t remember a lot from the book, but boy am I pleased that I read it again, because well, this book is AMAZING! I forgot so many little details, that I of course am not going to publish on here, because I’m “Keeping the secrets”. But I just want to say that this book really is an amazing read for any Harry Potter fan, if you can get your head around the script type format, it’s brilliant!

I have also added some quotes and notes to my good reads account on this book, for you all to have a look at as well. This book did surprise me with the number of really good in depth quotes that were written within the many pages.

If you want to see my good reads page, a widget can be found on the home page on this blog website. Please check it out if you want to see what I have read and what I am currently reading, maybe under this blog post if you want to give me further reading suggestions that would be brilliant.

Show Day

So now we move on, to Saturday, yesterday I got the chance to go and see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child performed on stage in London. Now before I go any further I have sworn to Keep the Secrets of what I saw, so this will just be a basic review of the show that I have now seen, I can’t believe I saw it even!

Wow, Wow, Wow, where do I even begin with this fantastic show? What an incredible experience that was, I can’t quite take in how spellbinding that show was, it was incredible just to be sat in the audience watching the awesome actors do their thing down on the stage, at some points I even forgot that it was on stage, because it felt like I was watching the show on the big silver screen. But, no the effects, the spells and everything was just amazing.

In terms of the running times, the first part of the Cursed Child lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes including the normal 20 minute interval, then there was a break of around 2 hours before we were due back at the theatre for the second part which was 2 hours and 35 minutes including a 20 minute interval once again. I know tickets for this show are really hard to come by, but stick with it and hopefully then you should be able to get tickets eventually, this is because of how popular this show actually is and now I can totally see why.

Never before have I wanted to cry, laugh and scream at some points throughout the entire show, it makes you feel all kinds of different emotions that you never thought you could ever feel in a theatre, it was just incredible. J.K Rowling, you are a GENIUS!

If you are a Harry Potter fan who hasn’t read or seen the cursed child yet, you need to, trust me when I say that this is incredible, definitely not something to miss out on and I am so pleased I got to go and see this play. It is a day that I will never ever forget, because of how much I loved everything about it.

Ok I think that’s about all for now, if you have seen the cursed child, please don’t forget to keep the secrets as I have in this blog post. Any comments on this post will also be moderated really closely for spoilers as well.

Lots of Love

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you’ve done a fantastic job with this. In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Safari. Exceptional Blog!

Hi, firstly thank you for your very kind words and secondly, yes I did develop little pieces of this site myself in addition to using a theme from wordpress for the bulk of the layout.
